November 18th , we hosted the ‘Confirmation Candidates from three Catholic parishes at our evening meditation with the Blessed Sacrament and then Vespers here at the Monastery of the Risen Christ.

Mrs. Terry Burrows who coordinated the gathering with Father Stephen modeled a prayer experience for them of our Camaldolese monastic prayer practice and meditation, which was so enjoyed by all. The Parishioners to be confirmed had all been received into the Catholic church this past Easter were from St. Rose of Lima in Paso Robles, St. William’s in Atascadero and San Luis Obispo Mission parishes in our area here in California.

God’s flowing light certainly touched all of us as we gathered to give thanks that evening. Our monastic community is happy to share our tradition of prayer with so many new sisters and brothers that share our faith in the church. May one and all be ever deeply gifted and guided by the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation they will receive in their parishes this Sunday on the Solemn Feast Our Lord Christ, King of the Universe!
